www.INNOWIZ.be is an innovation method and an evolving creativity tool database. It is an open source project initiated by the Industrial Design Center at Howest University (Belgium). A diverse range of tools is showed based on the user’s preference. An interesting example is Materia, a material explorer. Found this via the Delft design guide.
Lately I posted about the transparent screen glasses. Seems that Samsung has been developing this technology to an even higher level. What looks futuristic for now will be common in just a few years. An intelligent transparant window which can show widgets, blinds or just your view. Fantastic!
Got this gift today from my girlfriend’s father: a stapler that uses no staples! Clever mechanism which uses your papers to “staple” your documents. Originally designwed for the food production industry to prevent staples from getting lost in food products such as bread, which happened about every few years.

Being a bit disapointed by the average level of GLOW projections this year made me wonder what kind of new way of project mapping could amaze me as the first project mapping I saw in 2010. This projection does not only interact with the building, visitor are also able to interact and control the projections by playing pinball! Urban flipper is presented on fête des Lumières(Interesting festival!) by CT Light Concept.

John Leung, manages in a surprising way to make a static table and rug dynamical by using “moire animation”. The magic carp-pet even won the Best of the best Red Dot design award: design concept 2011! Interesting translation from illusion trick to design if you ask me!
